Nice legs...

So I basically spent the last couple of days shopping. Super Target, Tractor Supply etc. LOVE IT!
There were some deals to be had, but prices had to be watched. Just because we’re in the States doesn’t mean it’s always cheaper. It was a good time.

We were supposed to stay at the CanadInns for 2 nights but thought the ethics of using the swimming pool really sucked. On top of paying over 100.00 for the room, you had to pay an extra 15.00 to use the pool….Per person! And if Jade went in, she could only have 1 supervisor, the rest of us would have had to pay to just watch. Ridiculous! I am not paying an extra 15.00 each to have my mom and aunt watch my child swim…Why can’t they have 1 free swim pass for the hotel guests? Their excuse , it’s open to the public…..BLAH! BLAH!.......BAH! So having learned all this and getting to GF after 7:30pm, (very rough start here in STBH…more later…) we booked at the Holiday Inn for the next night, a poolside room.

Was my Jade ever thrilled to be staying poolside! Much better she thought than the brand new CanadInns, much better than the luxurious brand new pillows, or fresh smelling paint of the new CanadInns. This was poolside! Off we headed to the Holiday Inn. Now the Holiday Inn is not super gross by any means, (I have stayed in worse) but it was not super clean either. They were renovating. So there was drywall dust etc. The sheets were clean, the beds were clean, the bathroom so so, (why do they use tile?) and the air conditioner was 10 times quieter! The pool was fun and Jade had a blast. I thought it was a great choice. Would I stay there again? Yes I would, but I would check out other places to be sure….:)

Back to the rough start… We aimed at leaving around 1:30pm on Monday. Since I am travelling with known folks who aren’t the best at leaving on time… I knew this could be a lofty ambition…. We ended up leaving my house at about 2:30pm. Off to the bank to pick up some cash. We got just down the road in front of city hall and BOOM! The rear tire blows on my mom’s vehicle! Just like that, a 1 inch hole in the side of the tire. Well la-de-da! My aunt in the vehicle has CAA Plus, they came, (after a 20 minute wait) tried to change the tire, but couldn’t. The spare wouldn’t release from underneath! ARGH! Because we had CAA plus, we got towed for free to a nearby town for some new tires.

Jade and my Aunt walked to my house just down the block and vegged there whist we got things fixed. I also walked home and picked up my truck, (no not the new one quite yet….) drove out to Blumenort and waited with my mom at the tire shop. When we arrived there, they informed us it was officially coffee break and they could only start in 15 minutes or so….FINE! At this time, my mom and I discussed putting off our trip till the next day. Nah, we talked ourselves into still going. So we sat and waited for the tires to be fixed for about 45 minutes. 4pm rolls around, we’re still waiting, we still hadn’t gotten to the bank, it was closed by now. So much for that.

FINALLY at 4:30 pm the Envoy is done and we can proceed on our trip. But not before an 80+ year old man, in the tire shop waiting room, full of people, says to me “Oh my! you have nice legs…..”

Not that you don't have nice legs, but are you sure he didn't ask if they had "bike treads"? It is afterall a tire place...
